Poverty, culture of giving up and dialogic administration incontexts of the social economy

The phenomenon of poverty in contexts of forced displacement, such as the case of Villa Clarín in Colombia, transcends the mere lack of income and material resources. As research by Chajín, Fals Borda and other authors has shown, poverty implies a complex interaction of cultural, psychosocial and structural factors that shape adaptive and resilient ways of life, known as the culture of poverty or the culture of dejao. This essay presents a conceptual framework that articulates the approaches of the sociology of dejao, theories of poverty, microcredit, and dialogic administration, with the objective of providing elements to understand and propose alternatives for social and human development in displaced communities.
